Having moved to Atlanta in 1988, Dawn has seen many changes in the real estate climate of the city. Although not in the real estate industry at the time, choosing the Virginia-Highland area as her residence was the beginning of her real estate education. After a short stint at Turner Broadcasting as a controller, she joined her then-husband in their restaurant company which they quickly grew into a diverse restaurant, retail and real estate development organization. During that period they bought and sold commercial and residential property in Virginia-Highland, Morningside and Inman Park.

In 1991, she and a partner started Environs Residential Design & Construction, a design/build home renovation company. As the designer and business manager of the company, Dawn gets a first-hand perspective of what homeowners want in their houses, how to make it happen and how much it costs to produce, information that is invaluable in helping clients both select a home and determine how best to market one. Her expertise lies in her ability to evaluate a home for both its Lifestyle Enhancement factors as well as its investment value. She sees Atlanta as a growing metropolitan area that is still undervalued in the national market. There are homes in Atlanta’s Intown neighborhoods for everyone and with commuting becoming less desirable for Atlanta residents, she is excited to be a part of the movement “back to the city” by helping clients with their real estate needs.

She holds an Accounting degree from the University of Tennessee and has design education from the Atlanta College of Art. She was a founding member of the Virginia-Highland Business Association, is a current member of the Midtown Neighborhood Association, the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association, the Decatur Business Association and the Georgia Board of Realtors. Additionally, she volunteers for the Midtown Neighborhood Assoc.’s annual Tour of Homes and other various neighborhood events. Cycling, hiking, snow skiing and her 16 year old son keep her busy when she is not buying, selling or building houses.
